1 – Morgan Brandt leads all active Big 12 players with 3,290 career assists. The total ranks fourth in program history.
3 – Christy Johnson-Lynch ranks No. 3 all time in Big 12 history with 211 league victories.
5 – ISU hit at .333 or better in the first five matches of the season. The last time ISU had a stretch of five-straight .300 matches happened in in 1992.
8 – The Cyclones ended con-conference at 10-1, the best mark in eight seasons.
11 – Iowa State ranks 11th nationally in both kills (14.25 per set) and assists (13.19 per set).
28 – Maya Duckworth stands 28 kills away from becoming the 12th Cyclone in program history to hit 1,000 career kills. Duckworth currently ranks 14th in ISU history.
The 2025 Cyclones
Iowa State took the road win at K-State and won a set at No. 15 KU last week. Rachel Van Gorp had crucial saves and ranked No. 1 in the Big 12 averaging 5.33 digs per set, leading her to earn Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week.
Van Gorp had a career-high 30 digs at KSU and followed that up with 18 at No. 15 KU. The libero extends her double-figure dig streak to 22 matches dating back to last season, and ranks second in the Big 12 averaging 4.33 digs per set.
Freshman Reagan Hanfelt, playing in just her third and fourth career match, had 17 kills at .419 and 10 blocks last week. In Big 12 week seven action, Hanfelt ranked fifth in blocks (1.25 per set) and ninth in hitting percentage (0.419).
The Opponent
ISU enters the matchup on a five-match series win streak, with the overall series record at 24-4. West Virginia closed non-conference at a perfect 12-0 before ending its win streak in the Mountaineers' Big 12 opener at Cincinnati. WVU then took K-State to five sets before getting a ranked win in five against No. 19 BYU at home. Last week, WVU dropped matches to Cincinnati and UCF.
West Virginia ranks 25th nationally with a hitting percentage of 0.272, and 33rd in blocks averaging 2.56 per set through the season. In conference play, the Mountaineers have hit at .207, while averaging over two blocks per set. Maddy McGath leads WVU with 73 blocks, while Cassidy Tanton leads with 179 kills in 2025.

Iowa State is off this weekend, and back in Hilton next Thursday hosting Arizona at 6:30 p.m. for the Pink Match. ISU also visits Colorado next week on Saturday.
